NIKKO LOBATO
for Fish Audio · Demand Gen Marketer
Talk to me. This is a clone of my voice on Fish Audio, answering from my real work record. Ask it anything you'd ask in an interview.

THE FIT ↓
01 / WHY THIS PAGE

You're hiring your first demand gen marketer for a voice API. So I built a sample app on yours.

That voice up top is mine, cloned on Fish Audio. It answers from my real work record, and it won't make things up (I checked). Honestly, it's the kind of thing I'd want a developer to build in their first hour with your API.

Why Fish: there are quite literally a handful of people who have worked on this problem and really understand demand for voice AI products. I'm one of them. Leading B2B growth at a rocketship sounds amazing.

02 / THE FIT

What you asked for, and where I've already done it.

YOU ASKED FORWHAT I'VE DONE
8+ years in B2B, building a function10 years: ABM agency, Google, Deepgram. Took Deepgram's paid program in-house, ran it solo for ten months, built the operating system, then brought on the next agency.
Marketing to developersVoice AI APIs at Deepgram. One "go to console" button took signups in a campaign from 4 to 84 in six days (we rolled it out everywhere).
Owning a pipeline numberCo-own the paid OKRs on SQLs, activations and paying logos. Q3 paying logos were tracking ~4x the target by mid-quarter.
Self-serve and enterpriseBuilt DocuSign's PLG program on Google Ads (+95% qualified trials). At Deepgram, moved bidding from signups to activations to business email (~58x the value).
Analytical depthWrote the forecast behind a ~2.4x budget. Moved spend off a keyword that never activated: 2.4% → 18.5% activation in ten weeks.
Modern stackHubSpot, Salesforce, GA4, Looker, Dreamdata, Clay, n8n. I build my own tools with Claude Code (including this page).
Bias to shipFive weeks with no direct manager: launched a programmatic channel, a newsletter sponsorship and a G2 program anyway.
NICE TO HAVE
Voice AI / API-firstPaid launches for Aura-2 TTS, Voice Agent API and Flux.
Better-funded incumbentsRan the program that took Deepgram #3 → #1 on G2 in Voice Recognition, ahead of Google.
APAC and EuropeHelped run our first German and Spanish webinars (50% live attendance vs. ~38% norm). Expanded paid into Japan, Korea, India and the Nordics.
Open-source credibilityHaven't run an OSS community. I'd build on fish-speech's, not pretend to it.
03 / RESULTS

The numbers I'd stand behind.

~4xactivations quarter over quarter, cost per activation down 73%
2.4→18.5%activation rate in ten weeks
58xa business-email signup vs. a free one
2xregistration target on our biggest webinar, at under half the planned cost
DEEPGRAM · 2025

The activation trap

My sneaking suspicion was that our best signup keywords were tourists: people expecting a consumer product who bounced once they realized they had to code. They were. I argued against my own headline metric, moved the money to developer intent, and activation went from 2.4% to 18.5%.

DEEPGRAM · 2026

Business email is the north star

Work-email signups were ~17% of paid-search volume and over 90% of the revenue. So that's what we bid on now.

GOOGLE · 2019–2024

Value over volume for Twilio and Segment

Moved them to value-based bidding: +160% and +53% conversion performance YoY. It became a framework for other enterprise accounts.

HOW I WORK

The misses go next to the wins

A landing page test I called negative. An incrementality test I called unmeasurable. A growth number I corrected down. If a claim doesn't hold up, we change what we assert.

04 / FIRST 90 DAYS

A starting plan. I'll rewrite it after a month of listening.

DAYS 1–30

Listen and instrument

  • Founders, eng, research, sales, and customers across agents, support, media and gaming.
  • Measure signup → API key → first call → paid → expansion. Agree on one activation definition.
DAYS 31–60

Position and prove

  • B2B positioning for developers, platform teams and enterprise buyers.
  • Docs- and benchmark-led acquisition; paid tests judged on activation, not signups.
  • A PQL definition and a clean handoff to sales.
DAYS 61–90

Launch and scale

  • Run the next model launch end to end, with a readout.
  • First partner co-marketing and first international push.
  • A pipeline target with the founders, and a plan for the first hires.
05 / HOW THIS PAGE WORKS

Built on your API.

VOICEFish Audio s2.1-pro and a clone of my voice. Each sentence is synthesized as it's written, so it starts talking early.
ANSWERSClaude, grounded only in my work record. It declines confidential numbers.
LISTENINGBrowser speech recognition, or just type. Tap the sea or press Esc to interrupt.
THE SEAASCII water driven by twelve frequency bands of the live audio.
06 / CONTACT

I'd love to talk to the real founders, with the real me.
